Precision shims made of laminated shim stock

Peelable individual sheet foil
Individual parts based on technical drawings
Precision shims made of laminated shim stock serve to adjust variable gaps between components or assemblies. It consists of multiple layers of thin metal foil that are laid over each other like lamellae and bonded across the entire surface of each (laminated). The individual layers can be peeled of with a knife until the thickness necessary for distance adjustment has been reached. This kind of laying of sheet metal is called laminated sheet.
Precision shims made of laminated shim stock
Customized precision shims made of laminated shim stock are made individually according to our customers’ geometrical requirements. We offer shim stock parts in various individual sheet thicknesses from 0.025 to 0.2 mm in the following materials: aluminium (Al 99), stainless steel (1.4301), steel (DC01 and DC03), and brass (CuZn33, CuZn37, and CuZn10). The exact material specifications can be found in the materials table. We also provide finished precision shims and laminated shim stock plates according to the requirements of LN-29557/AMS-DTL 22499.
Laminated shim stock combinations

Same-thickness foils
Combination of foils of varying thicknesses
Combination of foils of a single thickness and solid sheet
Combination of foils of varying thicknessese and solid sheet
The thicknesses of the laminated shim stock layers can be combined in a number of ways. For instance, besides laminated shim stock consisting of layers of the same thickness, a combination of different layer thicknesses of foil and solid sheet are possible. Send us your requirements together with a technical drawing or sketch in a commonly used image format (PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG) in an inquiry. We will check them for feasibility and send you an offer.
