Sheet bending is a method of permanent sheet deformation that generates cornered parts. Machines for generating cornered construction elements are called brakes. The finished sheet parts have one or more corners with a specific angles, the measure of which can be freely defined. The number of corners is not limited, although cornered slotted or precision shims have only one angle in most cases.
Chamfered shims are used where they must provide additional grip. Among the common uses of such parts are chamfered screw locking devices. The parts can be manufactured from all common materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, steel, and brass and in various thicknesses. Chamfered shims are in our standard product range, but are available upon request as customizations based on technical drawings.
