Aligning rollers

A decisive measure in the construction, as well as in the maintenance of production plants – in which rolls, rollers, and cylinders are important construction elements – is the alignment of the rollers. Such machines are used, among others, in paper manufacturing, and the production of packaging materials and films. Other typical industries include converting, metalworking, and sheet metal fabrication. Proper and accurate parallel alignment of the rollers, as well as optimal shaft alignment, is of utmost importance.

Disruption-free operation in these manufacturing processes can only be guaranteed if the rollers are optimally aligned i.e. if the rolls are exactly parallel to each other. Even the slightest deviation from this parallel alignment can cause paper webs to tear during production, or wrinkles to form during the production of foils.
